Erasmus+ K2 – izmenjava učencev na Portugalskem

Staršem, prijateljem, sošolcem in učiteljem sporočamo, da smo srečno prispeli v trenutno deževni in hladni Povoa de Varzim. Več o naših aktivnostih sledi v nadaljevanju tekom tedna. Lep pozdrav vsem skupaj.

Učitelji Betka Mahnič, Matjaž Pintarič in Helena Markuta

We were invited to the school Flavio Goncalves where we saw one class, either physics or math, in which we could see the similarities and the differences in their school system and ours. After the lesson, we saw a great show they prepared for us. Soon, the auditorium awaited for our presence where we introduced ourselves, our countries and the games with a 1 hour pause in the middle for lunch. Of course we tried the games afterward, but ended up talking most of the time while we waited for our ride back to the house. About two hours later, we were back in school for dinner and a show. Great singers, amazing dancers and traditions, one of those is a dance called rusga. It is danced in groups and each group has different colours. However, the rivalry between these groups is unimaginable unless you see it in person.

We started the day on the sea shore, where we rode a speedboat or sailboat in groups of six. So it would be fair for everyone, we swapped places, but we did so on the open ocean. On the sailboat, we were taught how to catch the wind and on the speedboat, we simply had fun (and jumped in the water if we wanted). After the ride, we had a well-deserved lunch in a restaurant where we talked and learned new things about each other. The lunch was followed by the Temple-Monument of Santa Luiza. Unlike other temples and churches, it was simple but mesmerizing nevertheless. After all, according to the magazine National Geographic, it is one of the most beautiful places in the world.

After the tiresome three hours of riding passed, we arrived at the city of Braga. A little bit of climbing, but all was forgiven once we arrived at its highest point. Although we’ve visited a lot of beautiful churches in our short time spent in Portugal, the church Bom Jesus do Monte is not an exception. The peak Sameiro offered us a magical sight (and a great background for pictures), so we used it to our fullest ability before we found ourselves in the city for lunch. Of course, no party is complete without dancing and ours had enough of it. We liked visiting the Duke’s Palace, but we liked our dinner in the hotel even more. As we had said, no party is complete without music or dancing, so while a traditional group took care of the music, we were the ones at fault for the dancing atmosphere and our hurting feet, but it was worth it.
